Ingeborg Bjerke Styve is an Oslo- based Norwegian dance artist and photographer, Educated in dance artistry and choreography from the School of New Dance (Skolen For Samtidsdans) in Oslo, and with a 4- year bachelor's-degree in dance and pedagogy from the University of Stavanger.
With a technical base in contemporary dance, improvisation and choreography, Ingeborg works creatively and as a performer in several projects in the field of New Dance. She is Co-founder of KOLLEKTIVNI, a creative and artistic network of dance artists. She is also manager of daily affairs, co- artistic leader and teacher at Rom For Dans Kveldskurs, a new establishment for artistic and creative dance work with children and youth at Rom for Dans, Oslo. She has worked as a teacher alongside her whole artistic career, specialising in creative dance for all age-groups.
Her own creative practice often sparks from kinesthetic experiences, site specific approaches to location and scenography, and forms of interactivity. At the moment she is very interested in transforming the stage space and seeking alternative stage spaces, locations and sites for her works. She is very interested in interactive work and the idea of the performance situations' co-dependence with its audience to fully function.
Interdisciplinary collaborations is sentral in her work, and she has worked as a photographer/videographer alongside her practise in dance for several years. Her experience in photography and videography stretches from capturing performing arts, portrait work, wedding- and other concept-photograpy.
